What did I sign up for?!?

So, I decided it's time to get back out there. I have been told by many people that LavaLife and JDate are the most popular sites. People don't really use Match or Yahoo up here. So, I went onto LavaLife nad created a profile. I created my handle and opening line and while I was creating my bio/filling out the rest of my profile (which I need to really work on and make better) I got 10 IM's, 3 wink/smile things, and 1 email. All within the first 10 minutes. You all know I HATE im and I am just trying to create something here. However, it is a nice ego boost. So, I start looking at the emails - 1 guy sent me naked pictures, and one of the IMs asked if he could tie me up.

Turns out, there are 3 sections on LavaLife - Dating, Relationship and Intimate. You are automatically put on all 3. Intimate is quite explicit (just look at the profiles) and they all jumped on me (no pun intended). So, I figured out how to turn that off and things have slowed down considerably.

Koshka is pushing the boundaries. She likes to drink the water in the saucers after I water the plants. It's dirty water, sometimes with Miracle Grow in it, so I don't like her drinking it. This morning, she took it a step farther and has been trying to move the plant over so she has greater access to the water. She does it, I say no. She does it again, I say no. She understands "no". I pick her up and put her in the next room. She comes back and starts again. Well, the third time we played this game, when she came back, she lay down and put her paw on the saucer. Not to pull at it and get scolded, but to push my buttons.

Been a slow month

I haven't updated this not because I've been busy or lazy, but because not much has happened. It's just work, watch TV, go to dance class - nothing exciting has happened in the past few weeks. It has gotten colder, but it is late October, and that's to be expected. I am pleased to report that I can wear a normal sweater, my nice coat, gloves and a hat and be perfectly comfortable at 8 degrees. I don't even have to button the coat, unless it's windy. Add a turtleneck and make that a warmer sweater, and I feel pretty good. And I haven't even had to put on the heater yet. The low last night was 1 (yes, 1 degree, that's not quite 34 degrees F) and I didn't need it, and I only have my fall/spring comforter on the bed. This place is well insulated.

One interesting note is how far the earth has rotated. Maybe it rotates more when you are up higher in latitude, but the sun used to be in the center of the windows in the sunroom, now it is out the side window. That's about 7 feet it's moved to the right. If any of you math whizzes want to take a stab at how many degrees that is, please let me know.

I wore my winter coat last night

And I'm not sure what concerns me more - that I wore my winter coat in early October, or that I was the only person wearing a winter coat. Oh, people were wearing jackets, but I saw no other big winter coats. Low was 42 last night, which isn't too bad. It just got there as early as 10pm. High today is 58. The last few days it has been miserably hot in the mornings in the sunroom. Then around 3pm the clouds come in and it gets freezing. Of course, I've worked until 10m every night this week and only left the house for the first time last night, so my analysis could be off a little.

I had a great time being back South the other week. It was great to see everyone. Work was productive, but I was so busy with meetings and client visits that I didn't get any of my work done, which is why I've worked so much this week. And therefore have little to report.
